The London Mets split the double header vs the London Legends in Croyden on Sunday. Behind Tommy Flaherty's no-hitter through 5 innings, the Mets cruised to a 6-inning mercy win. Meanwhile, the Mets' offense was fueled by a pair of doubles from Zach Stroman, 4 RBI from James Dix, and 4 runs scored by Jordan Edmonds.
The 13 runners left on base in game 1 did not bode well for the typically high-powered Mets offense. In game 2, the Mets were only able to notch 4 runs despite 11 hits, leaving 12 on base. Brian Lainoff's high quality performance from the mound wasn't able to overcome what must have been a defense worn down by the strong summer sun. Drake Yoshioka took over after 5 innings and continued into the 8th, but a single, thanks to the WBSC tie-break rule of placing a runner on 2nd to start all extra innings, led to the Legends' game-winning RBI. James Dix continued his strong day at the plate with 2 RBI on 2 singles and 1 double.
