Winter programme 2026: four eight-week courses, booking open now

London Mets have confirmed the club’s winter programme for November and December 2026, so players of every age and level can keep swinging through the off-season. There are four eight-week courses, running from 30 October to 19 December, and booking is open now on Spond.

Four courses, two venues

On Friday nights, Baseball4Beginners returns to St Aloysius College in Highgate for adults who have never picked up a bat or glove. Each 90-minute session mixes hitting and fielding and builds the fundamentals from scratch.

On Saturday mornings, experienced players move into the new batting cages at Finsbury Park for the Winter Hitting Block. It’s hitting only: bat path, timing, approach and quality of contact, with lots of reps and feedback from coaches. Players are grouped by the level they played at this season.

On Saturday afternoons, the youth programme takes over at St Aloysius. 8U Baseball4Beginners comes first, followed by 12U Baseball, which leads into the club’s competitive youth teams.

The Winter Hitting Block runs in three hourly groups: 10:00 for NBL to Division 3, 11:00 for Divisions 4 and 5, and 12:00 for everyone else. Finsbury Park to St Aloysius is about 30 minutes by bus, so families can do the morning hitting block and the afternoon youth sessions on the same Saturday.

“Winter is when players get better. Whether you’re picking up a bat for the first time on a Friday night, grinding through reps in the cages on a Saturday morning, or bringing your kids along in the afternoon, there’s a place for you at the Mets this winter.”
Joe O’Connell, Chairman

Booking

Every course is booked through Spond and paid as a full block. Single sessions aren’t available. Your place is confirmed once you’ve accepted the event and paid. Places are limited on every course, and adult beginners have until 23 October to book.

Equipment is provided on the beginner and youth courses: just bring sportswear, trainers, water and a warm layer. Hitting Block players need their own bat and batting gloves and clothes for the weather, because the cages are outdoors.

Not on Spond yet? Register with the club first and we’ll add you to the right group. The full timetable, venues and session dates are on the winter programme page.
